Intimate traditional diner (Florida's oldest) serving good honest burgers, onion rings, fried okra, etc. in a converted railway train car. Decor is 1950's neon and kitsch. Always busy. Good value.

I had to be in Palatka on a job in the mid 90's, spotted this old train car that called itself a diner, Florida's oldest. I stopped one evening, had a hamurger steak, served with grilled onions and fries. It was great!
Then I noticed people eating VERY LARGE hamburgers, so I stopped the next evening, ordered their half-pounder. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!! They put some kind of cole-slaw on top top of the burger that is out of this world!
If you are in the area, don't miss it!!! |
