Mearle's Drive-In 559-734-4447
604 S. Mooney Blvd.
Visalia, CA 93277

It looks like the drive-ins you (or your parents) remember from days gone by. Unfortunately, the car service has gone the way of the dinosaur, but in other ways Mearle's is still true to drive-in history.

Inside there are vinyl booths with jukeboxes at each table. The menu consists mainly of burgers. When you order a milk shake, you'll get the whole metal shaker full.

Great Place Oct 6th, 2003
I try to eat there each time I go home to Visalia! Wonderfull, real, milk-shakes and great burgers/fries. I ate there a lot when I was a kid--great old 50's style place.

Mearle's Rocks Feb 24th, 2003
I hadn't been to Mearle's since I was about 7 or 8 years old (I'm 24 now). I had very fond memories of getting bubble gum ice cream there and looking at the gum under the counters and tables with my sister. I've been wanting to go back for years, and I finally got to go last night. I'm a sax player and I got to play with the Crew Cuts (of Sh'boom and Earth Angel fame) in Visalia. I suggested the 60 something year old place, and the whole band went over there to Mearle's. It's authentic as it comes, with Vanilla Pepsi and everything. I went back tonight to take my girlfriend who had never been. The lady at the front told me that after the show, the Crew Cuts came back by on the way out of town for Malts to go. The deserts are mostrous and the fries put McDonald's to shame. You'll have plenty of food to take go home and the smell on your clothes to go with it. All the years of waiting and it was everything I dreamt of. I didn't have the guts to look for the gum under the table, though.

Sherman, set the wayback machine! Aug 5th, 2002
This is a page right out of the old yearbooks. It was even considered as the backdrop for the movie American Graffiti, but the College (built in the 30s) in the background seemed too new!
The food is exactly what your drive-in memory remembers. From the real ice cream shakes, down to the piles of crispy fries. This is a must experience dining establishment.
